Denne butikken er kåret til en av fem beste designbutikker i verden av det britiske trendmagasinet Monocle. Her selges kun norsk design, og det er bare så mye lekkert!! Akkurat nå er jeg utrolig begeistret for varmt treverk, og hjertet mitt banker ekstra for The dots som bare passer så godt inn på den grå veggen i gangen min.

A flower for Lea

Gaute made this fun flower for Lea to hang belts, bags and other stuff on. Love it, and of course it is inspired by the trees from Swedese.

New bedspread for Lea

I made this bedspread for Lea the other day, since she has got a new room with a big bed instead of the junior bed she used to sleep in. The room was painted with a dark pink colour, which I loved the minute I laid eyes on it in the house of some friends of ours. The pics are not very good, but I hope they give a sense of what it looks like anyway.

Go nuts!

I love nuts! They are healthy, there are many different great tasting types of nuts and they superb as a little meal between meals. The other day when I came home from the supermarket with loads of nuts, my oldest daughter asked: "Why have you bought so much candy on a week-day mum?"... The girls love nuts, and I will not break the news about nuts not being candy. I have bought a nice bowl where I keep three different types of nuts. It stands on the table, so that we can grab a handful nuts when we feel hungry.

GO MEATLESS - nuts are a great source of protein. Toss some into stir-fries, salads and pastadishes.

TOP WITH NUTS - sprinkle chopped nuts on top of a bowl of soup, vegetable dish or your favorite casserole.

START YOUR DAY WITH NUTS - experiment with different tree nuts in your favorite muffin or pancake recipe. Sprinkle nuts on top of yogurt or oatmeal.

NUTS ARE GREAT WITH CHEESE - add your favorite tree nuts to cheese and cracker platters to serve as an appetizer or a special dessert.

Chai tea

I love a cup of good chai tea after work when I need to unwind, or early in the morning when I need a calm start to the day. Few things are more alluring than the infusion of spices in a delicious cup of chai. A cup of Chai tea can easily be made at home. You will need:

One cup of boiling water 

One teaspoon of loose black tea

Two spoons sugar

One inch of ginger into the boiling water. 

Let the mix of spices boilf for a few minutes,  then add 

One cup of milk  

Three crushed cardamom 

Two crushed cloves

Wait for entire liquid to boil 3 times, and then strain

Discovered this great shop in Ålesund, where they sell great clothes, furniture, delicious coffee, chocolate and gadgets. The store is run by two friends, Camilla and Synnøve, and they claim themselves that they sell all the stuff you not only need, but just got to have. Be inspired on their web site here

Life is beautiful

I love this great chair from Rocket St. George, a web-store with lots of design- goodies. I want to relax in it this summer!! I also have a wall sticker with "life is beautiful " in the hall, and it is the first we see when we come home, and it welcomes my guests in a great way! Visit the webstore here
